1982 AAM Paperweight

Established since 26th January 1932, the AAM is recognized as the national motoring authority, acting as the official spokesperson for Malaysian motor vehicle owners, and championing their rights to the safe and adequate use of roads.

Recognized under the Malaysian Federal Law as national motoring authority & motorsports' governing body by affiliation with the Road Transport Department of Malaysia (JPJ) & Ministry of Sports locally and FIA,FIM & CIKFIA internationally.

The association provides an extensive range of services to its members, from 24/7 roadside breakdown and technical assistance, auto workshop services which includes computerized chassis alignment, oven baked spray painting and collision repair & insurance claims.

In 1955, AAM introduced the nation’s first Motorcycle Patrol service.

In 1991, AAM started its first own Breakdown and Towing service in Kuala Lumpur, followed by other major towns in Peninsula Malaysia.

In 2010, AAM Automotive Centre (AAC) in Batu Caves (state of the art one-stop automotive centre & collision repair) received the approvals from the international motorsports fraternity when the President of FIA, Yg Berbahagia Datuk Seri Jean Todt officially launched the automotive centre.
The AAM is affiliated with international motoring organizations world wide that includes the Federation InternationaleDe' LAutomobile(FIA), the Federation InternationaleDe Motorcycliste(FIM), the Commission InternationaleDe Karting(CIKFIA) and the Alliance InternationaleDe Tourism (AIT).


Through these international organizations, the AAM provides its members with access to similar services on a reciprocal basis with 167 affiliates in 140 countries.
